The Fire Prevention Division of Kentfield Fire Protection District is here to help! Fire Prevention efforts are the most effective means for community risk reduction an loss of life and property due to fire. Our mission is to assist in the preservation of life and property by advocating, promoting, and providing leadership in the prevention and mitigation of fire and other related hazardous conditions.
At the heart of any code enforcement program is an adopted fire code and related standards. It is the adopted fire code and the adopted standards that the Fire Prevention Division derives its authority. Codes and standards establish minimum requirements, but should not prevent or discourage someone from exceeding the minimum requirement.
Fire Prevention efforts play an important part in the fire district activities. Over the years, the public has developed certain expectations of the Fire District to identify and abate fire hazards in the community. We appreciate the input from our citizens including their concerns about possible fire hazards in their neighborhood and our community.
