Get Ready Marin! Disaster Preparedness Program
September 29, 2007, Kentfield Fire Protection District along with several other Marin public safety agencies unveiled the new Get Ready disaster preparedness program. Check www.getreadymarin.org for detail and updates. Updated for 2010, our revised website helps Marin residents better prepare for disasters like floods, fires and earthquakes. Share this website and information with your family and friends to help turn your neighborhood into a community of survivors. Get Ready - TODAY!
Marin's disaster response professionals emphasize the critical importance that all Marin residents be prepared to survive for 72 hours, in their homes, following a disaster. This first line of defense, called "Shelter in Place," will save the more lives than any other personal preparedness effort. To help you prepare to Shelter in Place, Marin public safety agencies offer a two-hour course to teach you what to do before, during and after a disaster.
The simple Get Ready training program takes only two hours, and can be completed at your local fire department, community center, or in your own home. Your family, your neighbors and your community all depend on individual preparedness to survive the inevitable disaster.
